Betsy Campbell

Betsy Campbell is an Assistant Professor in the College of Education and the director of The Cape at Penn State (https://sites/psu.edu/cape), a community of practice focused on improving issues of diversity and inclusion in entrepreneurship.

Earlier in her career, Campbell founded two high-tech companies, was an intrapreneur inside a software company (that was sold to Lucent for $1.5B), and founded a non-profit (Harvard Alumni Entrepreneurs) which she grew to over 5,000 members worldwide before leaving to get her PhD. She also was the co-director for the pilot MIT Community Innovation Lab and a visiting scholar at the Hastings Center. She is the author of two books - Practice Theory in Action: Empirical Studies of Interaction in Innovation and Entrepreneurship and The Innovator's Discussion: The Conversational Skills of Entrepreneurial Teams.

She is an active member of the Explorers Club and an invited participant in the Smithsonian Apollo Dialogues Workshop in conjunction with the 50th anniversaries of the moon landings.
